Optional Extra Credit Assignment
| Purpose: | This assignment is for students who wish to earn extra credit towards their final grade. Students who turn in this assignment will earn between one and five points on their final grade. |
| Assignment: | Develop an Attendance Policy. |
| Due Date: | Before 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2008 |
| Grading: | 0,+1, +2, +3, +4 or +5 Credits (points on final grade). |
This attendance policy must be fully developed to address most problems encountered in day to day business operations. The business can be real or fictional.
It is your responsibility to describe the business in an overview or background statement. The overview must include a brief description of the business, its products and/or services, its hours of operation, number and types of employees, how the employees are paid, and other details necessary to understand how the business functions.
The background information will be used to determine how well your policy addresses the needs of the business.
The overview is not part of the policy.
Your policy should include the following:
- Title
- Purpose
- Policy
- Scope
- Responsibility
- Effective Date/Revision Date
- Authorization
I encourage you to be creative, but you must also be realistic in your approach.
The assignment should be typed, neat and legible. The policy should be concisely written; it must be easily understandable by the average employee at the business; and it must be grammatically correct. I am not looking for volume.
