INSTRUCTIONS
* * * Please read the instructions carefully. * * *
You may work individually or you may work in groups (teams). If you are working in a group, you MUST tell me as soon as the team is formed. Last minute changes (additions or subtractions) in group (team) participants must be thoroughly explained.
The following alphabetical list of employment regulations and issues was recently updated, however it may not be complete.
Using your text book as your primary source, then supplementing the text book with library resources and/or Internet resources, do the following:
Choose twenty (20) of the items from the list below. Your list must contain all items marked with an asterisc (*).
- List the item, year enacted, and acronym, if applicable. (Do not create an acronym.)
- State how many employees (size of employer/organization) the law applies to or "n/a" if it is not applicable.
- Write a two (2) to five (5) sentence description of each regulation you have selected. Be concise.
Include in your description (one paragraph with three to five concise sentences):
- What and/or who is covered;
- what is required of the organization or employer;
- does the employee have any responsibilities?
All work is to be typed and emailed.
Do not wait to get started on this assignment.
Decide promptly whether you are going to work alone or in a group. A group may include from two students to the entire class. Groups are responsible for their members performance. (If someone is not performing, the group members must determine what action to take; do not ask the instructor to intervene.) The group will receive ONE grade for all in the group.
You are encouraged to ask questions if you do not understand any aspect of this assignment.
The assignment is due Friday, August 1, 2008.
Late papers may not be accepted.
